Christmas in Milan

If you’re Italy fan you probably know we have a protector Saint for everything! Christmas period in Milan starts with the day dedicated to our patron Saint, Sant’Ambrogio, December 7th. It is the most important day for the Milanese and the official opening of the Opera House alla Scala’s season.

Today we turned on our Christmas three at Duomo Square, a large fir of about 24 twenty meters illuminated with 80 thousand low consumption LED lights and decorated with 800 red and silver Christmas balls and 60 bows. The beams of light at the base of the tree, will point to the sky, ideally calling the Milanese together in their most iconic place. However, it is not the only Christmas three in the town center.

We have our beloved Swarovski’s three, one of the most elegant ones, placed in the octagon in the center of la Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II between the sparking shops of Armani, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Dior. The three is 12 meters high, illuminated by 10,000 lights, wrapped in countless crystals and ornaments, completed with more than 200 exclusive handcrafted decorations. The installation is also a real love letter to Milan, thanks to marvelous crystal sculptures, creative reproductions of four of the most beloved Milanese symbols: the Teatro alla Scala, the Duomo, the Castello Sforzesco and the beloved tram.

Walking through the city, in front of our city hall, you “meet” Jo Malone special Christmas installation, a three created with shopping bags to be "unwrapped" for a Christmas. Made with large gift boxes and magical lights, the tree intends to capture and convey an emotion. Visitors will be able to enter the structure and suddenly find themselves immersed in a universe of stars. A unique sensory experience between fragrances and magical lights.

In the contemporary district of Citylife you will find yourself immersed in a starry vault, thanks to the innovative contemporary art installation imagined for Christmas in Piazza Tre Torri. The nine-meter-high structure, the first suspended Christmas tree in the history of Milan, will light up every evening at 5 pm giving life to a futuristic and glittering show, able to keep everyone "with the nose to the upward".

Our Christmas tour may not finish without a stroll through via della Spiga, one of the most elegant streets of Milanese Fashion, recently chosen by Raph Lauren for the opening of its new store. So what you waiting for? Milan and I are waiting for you to turn your visit into an unforgettable private and exclusive experience.
